Have you visited Faro yet? If not, here's why you should. The food at Faro is of excellent quality, delicious and simple. The decor is masculine but not heavy, with a sense of warmth and airiness. The atmosphere of Faro is quite European; the channel banks and the urban Ruoholahti area make it a unique dining experience. Best of all, Faro is very easy to access via metro or tram or by foot from the city centre.
The interior design is by Samuli Hintikka from dSign Vertti Kivi & Co. The decor is dominated by glass windows and wooden surfaces. Examples of the visually pleasing elements include the beautiful herringbone tables, gigantic woven lamps with a maritime atmosphere and the herringbone screens. The ceiling pattern also attracts the eye. The slightly industrial feel of the restrooms creates an exciting contrast with the warm atmosphere of the restaurant. Faro is especially atmospheric in the evenings. The sea reflects the lights from the houses in Kanavaranta and the beautifully lit bridge of Jätkäsaari gleams ahead. In the summertime, the milieu can be enjoyed on the terrace.
During lunchtime, Faro is filled with the workers and residents of the area. On weekday lunches, Faro usually offers six options. The list usually includes salad, soup, pasta and a dish from the bistro menu. In addition to the weekday lunch, Faro serves a two- or three-course à la carte business lunch.
Lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weekday lunch EUR 10/12.5/14/20. Business lunch EUR 39, two courses EUR 34 (reservations taken the previous day).
After lunch, Faro serves a bistro menu. It is compiled from the best seasonal ingredients. During the winter season, try the light beetroot soup with mascarpone and goat cheese crème or cold smoked salmon on top of our rustic bread for starters. The restaurant's own delicious focaccia is served with the starters. For your main course, enjoy a delicious rib eye steak from our lava stone grill or the fish of the day—guaranteed to be fresh! The list also features classics from a beef burger or fish 'n’ chips to a chèvre salad. Vegetarians feast on our black salsify risotto. For dessert, try our voluptuous chocolate cake or fresh pear sorbet. Start your meal with a glass of bubbly and ask our expert staff for wine recommendations.
Please note! The menu varies seasonally.
