Live It Up in April
Fizz fills the air at Grand Champagne and Pop-up Bar at Salutorget.
This cool capital called Helsinki is moving into the fast lane when it comes to cuisine and the beverages that accompany it. Grand Champagne is unique in that it attracts some of the biggest names in Champagne to this small city to present Master Classes and above all, spread the joyful message of the best of bubbles. It only takes three brilliant brains to make this event happen: Essi Avellan, Master of Wine, Taru and Christian From, entrepreneurs and owners of Ceesta Shop. They have once again dived into the deep end and invited the likes of Dom Pérignon, Bollinger, Deutz, Mumm, Billecart-Salmon and other world-renowned brands as well as smaller farmer-growers to partake of Helsinki’s hospitality.
A range of 297 champagnes are there for the tasting accompanied by oysters, caviar, foie gras and whatever the clever chefs from various top restaurants come up with. If you’re quick you might be able to find a ticket or two to one of the Master Classes. Throngs of party goers will fill the beautiful hall of The Old Student House from 19 – 21 April 2018.
Give your feet a break at the end of the session and sink into a comfy chair at Salutorget’s Pop-up Champagne Bar hosted by Deniz Löktas, last year’s Grand Champagne Challenge winner, with a glass of one of his hand-picked choices for the evening. And not as pricey as you might think, in fact there’s a 20% discount for the after work crowd from 4 to 5.30 pm and from 8.30 to 9.30 pm. On the final Saturday of Grand Champagne this offer stands from 8.30 pm until midnight.
