Grand Vin

Grand Champagne livens up the springtime while Grand Vin celebrates the nectar of the grape in autumn.

The team organising both events have got it down to a fine art. Pomp and ceremony dissipates in the relaxed, happy atmosphere reminiscent of times when the resplendent Vanha Ylioppilastalo or The Old Student House was used for this one purpose – to party!

Grand Vin

Quality wines are showcased and Jord Restaurant has conjured up some delicacies to savour with your drink. More than 70 producers and importers have pulled out 250 of their top products for our sheer enjoyment and if you think it’s only the old world that’ll be represented, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Chile, New Zealand and Australia make their mark with Master Classes being conducted by the likes of Felipe Tosso, principal winemaker at Viña Ventisquero from Chile and Adolfo Hurtado from the well-known Cono Sur Winery. Cult winery Secret Spot reveals all when Rui Walter Cunha walks you through their range from the Douro Valley in his presentation, ‘Wine true to its roots’.

Grand Vin takes place from 6 – 7 October 2017 with first pourings from 3.30 pm on Friday and 12 noon on Saturday. No glad rags required, only a good attitude and a thirst and hunger for something a little special. Tickets and bookings for Master Classes are available from the website:
